Price Charles Hospital

As part of the project, members went on a work experience program at Prince Charles hospital.

Who we are?

All of us

My name is Kelly and im a mum of three young children.
I left school with no qualifations and become a mum straight away.
This project came to my attention through joining a mother and toddler and cookery group.
Instead of being stuck in the house I decided to start learning again and get some achievements behind me .
This course has given me all that I needed to be able to eventually have a well paid job. It has given me the qualifications, confidence and even childcare to be able to study. It was also a brilliant opportunity to get to meet new friends and not only to study. We had fun. Right now ive finished the course and have been given a place in college to study Humanities, which will hopefully lead me into becoming a probation officer.

My name is Tina Bailey, I have two children.
I have been unemployed for 12 years. I was bored at home and had no job prospects. I lacked confidence and thought I wasn't clever enough to gain any qualifications. I have now completed the Life Support course, and I'm starting college in September studying Humanities. I am now confident that there will be a well paid job at the end of the course. I know that I will enjoy the course and the job!

My name is Lisa Morgan and I am a single mum to my son, who is ten years old. I joined the life support course because my son is getting older, and I wanted to do something more with my life. I built my life around my family responsibilities, and I wanted a change. The project gave me more self confidence and made me realise my self worth. I am determined to better myself and my son for our new life, with determination which I have gained from the course I am now looking forward to my future. During the course I have made a lot of good friends, we helped each other throughout the course, with encouragement and enthusiasm.
I am now going on to college to study Access to Health and Social Care, with the intention of becoming a nurse.

My name is Sharon,I first got to know about the Life Support Project through a cookery course I was attending.
I left school with no qualifications.
After a break up with my partner, I realised that to get a good job with decent prospects for my future, I would need qualifications. Since joining the project my confidence has been boosted, along with my abilities with academic work.
I am now going to attend college in September to study humanities.

My name is Michelle Edwards. I joined the Life Support course not just to learn but to build my confidence and self esteem. Throughout the course I believe that my confidence developed and I made friends. This was something I thought I would never do again.
